1. In this project we edited our site plan by adding sewer lines and water lines then adding trees and a driveway. We finished our floor elevation and completed the location of our house on the site.
2.
3. I enjoyed this projec because I feel like I have almost finalized my final house design. Learning the thought that goes into a site plan is fun learning.

"Affordable House- Support Drawings"
1. For this project, I used the habitat for humanity electrical code to add outlets, lights, swithces, electrical meter and an electrical panel. I used the code to follow the guidelines for spacing of outlets and other rules.
To change my houses daylighting, i simply removed a window from the north face and added a window to the southface of the house. (south face shown on picture above). The windows in the south cause the house to recieve more light in the winter and less in the summer whne it is already warmer and lighter. The electrical meter is found on the left side of the south face.
2.
On the image above, the electrical panel is found in the closet in the bottom right hand corner of the house.
3.
4. I liked this project because it gave me a chance to personalize my house on an electrical and lighting stand point. The code was sometimes hard to read at times but overall the project was great!

Affordable House-Revit Drawings
1. In this project I used the software "Revit" to design a house under Habitat by Humanity house code restrictions in the town of Naplesville Indiana. I used another student in our class to recieve feedback like a client and create a house based on what they desired.
2.
3. I Loved this project. I wish I could have had more freedom in the project and would have been able to not follow such strict requirements. I liked using the revit software and I learned alot from trouble shooting with this software.

"Affordable House- Floor Plans"
1. In this project I had to create an affordable house for a client with a family of four. The house has to follow habitat for humanity standards in my case it has to be 900 square feet because it has two bedrooms and has several more room restrictions. At this time in the project I have completed my dimensioned floor plan.
2. Bubble diagram/floor plan client did not choose.
3.Bubble diagram/floor plan my client did choose.
4. I learned that creating floor plans are very tedious and detailed. Next time I would start with my restricted boundry (900 sq feet) then draw in details instead of details and romms then trying to work restricted area into the details. I enjoyed drawing the floor plans though because my lay out seems very habitable and my floor plan looks like it will be a qaulity house.

Shed Activity-Revit
1. In this project we had to create a shed based on certain constraints using the design software, Revit. It included creating a gable roof, siding, and learning the basic materials that go into the average shed.
2.
3. Reflection: I learned that building a shed you have to have many materials to create a functioning safe shed. What was challenging in revit is that sometimes saving your previous drawings does not work. Also when building my roof on my shed Revit was not cooperating. Designing a shed is relevant because it helps me understand how to use revit on a smaller project like a shed instead of a house. It also helps me understand the materials and designing of a shed which can coorespond to the materials and designing of a house.

Roof Project
1. In this project we had to choose a type of roof style and design a three D model of it. My partner and I choose the roof style, "gable".
3.Fact Sheet
Advantages to a gable roof
- Simple construction, offers largest ceiling space
- Steep enough to drain water, and allow ventilation
- Disadvantages to a gable roof
- Tends to be tall so its more
- Vulnerable to natural disasters Like tornadoes and hurricanes
Gable roofs are used commonly every where but mainly where it rains or snows a lot because it is able to drain itself.
4. I learned the basic steps in building a roof. I liked creating a 3-D model. I disliked how the Popsicle sticks weren't always very sturdy in some places. Next time I would use a different material for the common rafter instead of Popsicle sticks.

Design Charrette
1. As a small group of six we had to renevate a farm house from the 1800's. We had to cooperate in a design charrettte which had many different job roles involved. Icluding Environmental Enginner, architect, landscape architect, saftey and public health engineer and many more.
3.Design charrette notes!

3.Design charrette notes!
o Introduction of each stakeholder and a brief job description.
· MC- Health and Safety Engineer- Makes sure all the workers are safe.
· Jack- Environmental Engineer- Keeps the project green and good for the environment.
· Kevin- Architect- Works on the overall design of the farmhouse.
· Ken- Structural Engineer- Makes sure the building stays up and chooses the building materials.
· Brian- Landscape Architect- Focuses on the design of the outside around the building.
o Statement of the problem
· To restore the condition of a deteriorating farm house, in a reasonable amount of time to prevent more deterioration.
o Sketches (hand or computer-generated) to illustrate the vision
o A bulleted list of the benefits of your plan
Renovate House- the main ideas initially thought of were replace the wood flooring, add windows, add air conditioning and heating, and insulate house- This keeps the house in working condition. All of our brainstormed ideas included:
· Replace the wood flooring
· Replace the brick chimney
· Add windows
· Outdoor garden
· Air conditioning and Heating
· Insulation
· Replace wood with brick for the siding
· Replace the wood siding with new wood, but same material
· Windmill
· Guest center
· Parking lot
· Pathway from parking lot to farmhouse
· Add a gas fire – easier to run than wood fire
· Add more beams across the ceiling to support the structure
· Redo the shingles
· Cobblestone walkway
Our final plan included a replacement of the wood siding, a replacement of the brick chimney, the addition of a cobblestone walkway, a guest center, a parking lot, an authentic windmill, more windows, more beams across the ceiling, insulation, air conditioning, and a gas fireplace. The benefits are numerous. The replacement of the materials will ensure that the building will last and the addition of beams will support the building. Since we use the same materials, the building will still have its historical look and feel. Air conditioning and heat will make it more comfortable for the guests as well as ensuring the building can be open year-round. A gas fire will be easier to run than a normal wood fire. Windows will let more light in, and the garden will add a pleasant effect to the landscape with the cobblestone walkway.
o A bulleted list of unanswered questions and potential barriers, along with suggestions for answers and ways to overcome identified barriers
· Barrier would be safety hazard in lead paint
· We need a cost estimator to determine if the costs are within our range; it can’t cost too much, otherwise the historical society can’t pay for it.
· Some forested area might have to be cleared out for the parking lot.
· Materials used to originally construct the building may no longer be available to fix the building.

5. I learned that in a design charrette you have to have patience and say whatever comes to your mind. No criticising! I liked the overall design of our renevated farm house. I didnt like how the environmental enginner played a back seat role on renevating a 1800th century because the environment cant be changed that much because the house still has to maintain its 1800th century feel. I would pick a different role maybe next time.
